Origin Story

CHRISTOPHER COREY SMITH is a VOICE ACTOR, COMEDY WRITER, and FILM PRODUCER currently working for clients WORLDWIDE.

Raised by a trio of benevolent space aliens, Chris was imbued early-on with an insatiable appetite for Disney audiobooks, golden-age Japanese anime, and Hanna-Barbera cartoons. Little did he know that Speed Racer, Ultraman and Yogi Bear were molding his future.

As the Earth cooled, Chris began his voice-acting career with the coveted role of third-guy-from-the-left-who-screams-when-he-blows-up. He was quickly type-cast, so the ambitious actor sought mentorship from Hanna-Barbera legend Daws Butler (Yogi Bear) and Disney narrator Ginny Tyler. Soon he was voicing characters with actual names.

Along the way, he attended the American Conservatory Theater and UC Berkeley, founded his own Shakespeare company and radio theater, worked on stage, on TV, in independent films, and battled Cylons on the Universal Studios Tour. He’s also written scripts for foreign language dubbing, and been an agent and a casting director. But that’s a tale for another day.

Flash forward to the present where he’s been the commercial voice of multinational corporate clients and main street shops. He can be heard as literally thousands of characters (with actual names), in hundreds of projects from anime to video games, original animation to audiobooks and toys. Since 2012 he’s gallivanted across the globe portraying the rugged adventurer Hank Johnson for the AR game, Ingress.

Chris maintains his prolific voice work while traveling far and wide for conventions and events. And he continues the legacy of his mentors by narrating storybooks for Disney, breathing new life into Ultraman, and connecting with fans across the generations.
